| 50,000 trees planted in Trinity River wildlife refuge
For a partnership looking for ways to improve the Houston area's environment, the math made sense. First, plant 50,000 seedling trees on 158 acres of logged pasture in the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge east of Houston. In return, the restored forest will remove carbon dioxide a potent greenhouse gas linked to global warming equivalent to what 3,000 average Americans use in fossil fuels in a year. The $250,000 project was completed this month by five corporate and nonprofit groups who partnered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which runs the 23,000-acre reserve on the Trinity River in Liberty County. The other participants include Dell Inc.; Travelocity; NBC Universal; Environmental Synergy Inc., a reforestation company based in Atlanta; and The Conservation Fund, a nonprofit environmental group, based near Washington, D.C.

Allure of an energy drink is the high, not the flavor
If there's a time when anybody can be driven to Red Bull, it's the holidays.
It's the biggest travel time of the year, and chances are excellent that you're sharing the interstate and airport with your American equals: the hurried, the harried, the sleep-deprived.
And nothing announces your pledge to simply get through the next few hours like a Red Bull. Or Jones Energy, SoBe, Full Throttle or Rock Star.
What you want, of course, is that little pop of stamina and intense concentration that you used to get when you could routinely back a street-legal dose of Suphedrine with a 16-ounce cup of burner-crusted caffeine-concentrated coffee: Call it suburban meth, but it got you through the car pool.
But because most energy drinks are at least $1.50 a pop if you buy them in bulk, and at least $2 each from your convenience store cooler, you have to ask: How potent is this brew in a can?
We know that energy drinks are pervasive enough in our culture that the best kind of story - the Urban Legend - has sprung up around them.

I do think that when he makes a mistake, it's pretty glaring. The Chicago game was one he'd like to forget, although those were two plays in which more was involved. On the first one, Jackman had trouble settling the puck at the blue line because of the bad ice conditions and got beat on a breakaway. The second one, that was a fairly wicked pass that Manny sent his way. I don't know how much of a chance Jackman had to handle it. As far as Jackman on the PP, you probably won't see him with the No. 1 unit again if he's on any unit. First of all, the main reason he was out there was because Eric Brewer and Erik Johnson were hurt earlier this season. Secondly, Jackman had 19 assists in the final 40 games last year, and the Blues thought his offense was growing. I think they realize now he's better suited for 5 on 5 and PK.
