| DEVELOPMENT: LV land prices rise in quarter
Land values in Las Vegas rose 21.8 percent during the fourth quarter to an average of $1.51 million an acre for 452 acres sold compared to the previous year's quarter, Las Vegas-based research firm Applied Analysis reported. The price was down 25 percent from $2.01 million an acre in the third quarter. Fourth-quarter sales included 13 acres of resort property, such as former sites for failed high-rises Ivana Las Vegas, Icon and Majestic. Those sites averaged $20.1 million an acre. Excluding land sales around the Strip, the average price was $939,400 an acre, still a 20.1 percent increase from the fourth quarter of 2006. .

The College of the Redwoods swimming pool renovation is deemed “completed" on the Measure Q performance audit, but with a leak of 12,000 gallons a day, there's clearly work to be done. “It would be nice if we could do it this summer," said Tim Flanagan, CR's co-director of facilities and management for the past few months. “There are less classes and the ground water is easier to pump out. But that would be pretty quick to get the engineering done and put it out to bid." The pool renovation, completed in fall 2005, was one of the first projects to be done with Measure Q support. In November 2004, 64 percent of the district's voters supported the $40.3 million general obligation to modernize and renovate CR's classrooms, laboratories and teaching spaces. The trustees, and the Measure Q Citizens' Oversight Committee, approved bond expenditures of $1,093,453 for a swimming pool renovation that included new floors, lights, locker room upgrades and concrete bleachers.

With Andolini's, Bacco, Iacofano's Deli and Pizzeria, Pasta Grille, Sette, and now La Pizzeria, it is easy to satisfy your appetite for most things Italian. La Pizzeria is in a strip mall shopping center at Coleman and Houston Northcutt boulevards in a space formerly occupied by a pizza restaurant. The new owners have spruced up the place by enclosing a narrow side patio, adding mood lighting by way of an odd assortment of stringed lights, dried flowers and plastic tablecloths. It straddles the crossroads of eat-in and carry-out design. There is a tall counter where you can place your order to go. Outdoor seating, a few tables in the front of the restaurant and the side patio provide table service. A chalkboard lists the daily specials (which could include an appetizer, pizza, panini, pasta or dessert) along with a pasta menu of baked ziti with Bolognese sauce, lasagna, gnocchi with a Gorgonzola sauce or a red sauce in the style of Sorrento.

But I swear ... now Aubrey is beginning to show." Holy Crap! The snitch continues, "Everyone knows she had something going on with [Diddy]. It makes a lot of sense that he would be the father." If it is true, the "Making the Band" alumni will be the fourth woman to mother an itty-biity Diddy baby -- and then Aubrey and Diddy can make a show called "Making the Baby".
